Basically Lizard QWOP!

Made in 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2021 (with the theme “JOINED TOGETHER”), GECKGO is a game about a lizard climbing out of a well.

The lizard’s limbs are joined together (via his body) and move together when unstuck from the wall.

It’s our first time playing around with procedural animation and inverse kinematics and it probably shows... but it’s hopefully good for a short laugh!

Thanks for playing!

CONTROLS

Each leg is mapped to a key and is stuck to the well by default. Pressing a key will unstick the leg and free it up for movement.

I - left arm             O - right arm

K - left leg               L - right leg

WASD - move all unstuck limbs and shift body weight in that direction

(Note that J and ; can also be used to unstick the left and right legs respectively)

You can also use a controller... but it doesn't seem to work properly with the WebGL build so you might want to download one of the other builds to use it.

L1 - left arm             R1 - right arm

L2 - left leg               R2 - right leg

Left stick - move all unstuck limbs and shift body weight in that direction

Right stick - just move all unstuck limbs

great job!

Thank you! And thanks for playing!

Looks really cool, there are simply not enough games about geckos out there.

Couldn't agree more! Thanks so much for playing!

not running for me??

Oh, I'm so sorry it didn't run for you! Can I ask what browser you were trying to run it in? Or was it the windows download that didn't work?
